Open to all but primarily comprising residents of Tadley and the surrounding villages, TMS is well known locally as a welcoming group that is keen to support causes within our community. With links to local schools, community groups, repair cafes, charities and churches, there is always an interesting job that needs to be looked at for someone!
Our Shedders bring a wide range of skills to the group and particularly enjoy helping out those with an interesting idea and an eagerness to learn. A good day at the Shed is a day when we are working together on a project for a local community group, we have members learning new skills as they progress through their own projects, and there is a group of us sitting in the shade with a cup of tea and a biscuit, ‘supervising’.
We are blessed with our own Shed that contains a good range of large and small tools either donated or purchased ourselves. Some of the equipment, such as the bandsaw, lathe, grinding wheel, sanding belt and so on, do require a small amount of training before Shedders are let loose independently. Once trained, members are permitted to use the Shed outside of regular sessions (with a few conditions).
As a member of UK Men’s Sheds Association, we are fully on board with their core mission of improving wellbeing, reducing loneliness and combatting social isolation. If you sometimes feel the need for a bit of gentle social connection, then come along. Equally, if you’re the sort of person that enjoys sharing their skills or chatting to new people, a Shed is a great place to do that.

We also love being offered donations of both tools and materials – we take as much as we possibly can, but sometimes just don’t have the space!
